Weather warning for Lincolnshire with 60mph winds forecast

Winds are forecast to reach up to almost 60mph in Lincolnshire which could lead to traffic disruptions across the county.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning to be prepared for January 31, especially when travelling.

High winds have caused several delays on Lincolnshire's roads in the last 24-hours with trees blocking roads on Belton Lane, Grantham and Mareham Lane, Sleaford.

The Highways Agency has warned drivers of high-sided vehicles, motorcyclists and people towing caravans to be particularly careful.

Lincolnshire's weather forecast shows winds to build up throughout the afternoon in a southwesterly direction with gusts reaching up to 60mph.

From 6pm, the wind should die down into the night with the weather warning expected to be lifted for Friday morning.
