Whites boss confident local lads will come good
Lincoln United boss Dave Frecklington is still backing his local heroes to shine, despite a torrid start to the season.
The Whites started their Evo-Stik League Divison One (South) campaign with a 3-1 defeat at home to Halesowen Town.
This was followed by a 4-0 defeat at Sheffield FC on Tuesday, writes Peter Hayward.
However, with a Bank Holiday double-header seeing them travel to Newcastle Town on Saturday and then face Scarborough at home on Monday, Frecklington is confident his side can improve.

"Our ambition is to be progressive and competitive this season," said the Whites manager.
"It gives you an identity when you have an honest bunch of Lincoln lads working hard together.
"We are a new side. It makes a big difference when you have local lads in the squad. It gives you a sense of pride.
"There have been times over the years when players have been signed from out of town.
"In the past, we have had a management team from further afield and it didn't work.
"We got relegated and spent a lot of money in doing so and obviously the club suffered from that.
"'Now we've got the right people behind the scenes to takes us in the right direction. I want to be the person to take us to where we want to be on the field.
"I've got a great management team and great players.
"If we can work hard like we have done in our warm-up campaign, I believe we can make good progress in the league this season."
Bank Holiday Monday's clash at home to Scarborough could see the return of key defender Stuart Reddington after suspension.
