Lincoln Ladies returned to winning ways with a deserved victory over Champions League-chasing Everton in the Women's Super League.

Early pressure from the Lady Imps was rewarded when a mix-up in the Everton box saw Lindsay Johnson head past her own keeper, Rachel Brown.

Lincoln went 2-0 up before the break when Lucy Staniforth fired home one of the goals of the season from 35 yards.

Glen Harris's side wasted chances to increase their lead in the second half and Everton pulled a goal back five minutes from time when Fara Williams' free-kick beat Nicola Hobbs thanks to a wicked deflection.
