Young Boston athletes impress
With just a couple of months of the track and field season remaining Boston and District Athletic Club has over 40 performances listed in the Power of 10, 2009 East Midlands Region Ranking Lists.
There are eight Gold Tops performances at the top of their event list.
Two combined event athletes head the East Midlands multi-event rankings with Stephan Brockett in first place in the under 20 men's decathlon and Jordan Nuttell at the top of the junior boys pentathlon list.
Stephan's performance in the ESAA Regional Combined Events Championships at Corby over the last weekend in June, when he accumulated a total of 5340 points at the end of the two day ten event competition, has earned him the top place.
At the same championships, under 15, Jordan finished his pentathlon with 2131 points to put him at the top of his category.
Jake Mason's clearance of 1.96m. at the Lincolnshire Championships at Grantham on May 9 has put him at the top of the under 20 men's high jump ranking list.
In his first season of competitive athletics, under 17 Marc Bradbury heads both the discus and the shot putt rankings.
His best shot performance of 12.57m at the Lincs Schools Championships on June 13 is the best performance in the region so far.
A 39.75m discus effort at the BADAC home National Young Athletes League match at Grantham on July 19, earned him a double top.
In the men's disability T35 category, Josh Goodfellow sits at the top of the rankings in both 100 metres and 200 metres with performances achieved at Yate on May 16.
Just below the top position, Nathan McClure's clearance of 3.05m at the English Schools A.A. Champioships at Sheffield, in early July, has placed him second in the under 15 boys pole vault rankings.
In the Under 17 women's age group, Chelsea Brockett holds third spot in the heptathlon list with a total of 3629 points, achieved in the ESAA Anglian Region Combined Events Championships in Corby.
She also has the same ranking in the pole vault with the 2.60m clearance she recorded at the Young Athletes League match at Rotherham on May 17.
Jordan Nuttell's Triple Jump effort measured at 11.35 at the Lincs. Schools Champs, earns him third place in the Under 15 Boys age group.
At Under 20 men's level, Jake Brittain's 4.00m earns him third place in the under 15 Boys age group.
At Under 20 men's level, Jake Brittain's 4.00m pole vault clearance at the Lincs League match at Grantham on July 17 gets him into third position.
In the Under 17 mens category there are two third place rankings with Tyrone Chase featuring in the octathlon with the 3974 points score achieved in the Regional Schools Championships.
Haden Brittain's 5k hammer throw of 49.98m achieved in June secures third place for him.
There are four, fourth ranked athletes at this stage of the season.
In the under 15 boys age group, Nathan McClure's pentathlon score of 2026 points, achieved at Corby, gives him his second to top ten ranking.
Jordan Nuttell's leap over 1.63m in high jump at the same venue in June earns him a third top ten listing.
Chelsea Brockett's County Championships Under 17 300m Hurdles time of 48.3seconds gives her fourth position in the current ranking list and Jake Brittain's leap over 1.80m in the under 20 men's high jump in Mansfield, in May secures him fourth place.
In her first under 17 women's age group, Wednesday Pywowariw is in fifth place on two event lists with a long jump of 4.89m and a heptathlon total of 3309 points.
Haden Brittain's 11.42m best shot putt, under 20 Stephan Brockett's 3.60m pole vault and Isabelle Whitehead's under 20 triple jump clearance of 10.28m also currently hold fifth positions.
There are sixth place rankings for under 17 Melanie Bristow (pole vault 2.40m), Chelsea Brockett (high jump 1.55m) and Jake Brittain (under 20 Decathlon 4531 points).
