Young Dons defeat Ruston Sports
Games in two cup competitions dominated the programme for Lincolnshire Intermediate Football League teams this weekend.
The main action was in the George Addlesee Trophy with Young Dons progressing at the expense of Ruston Sports after a 2-1 win thanks to Tom Wilkerson and an own goal. Lee Skepper replied.
Metheringham got the better of Manor United thanks to goals from Jack Sherratt (2) and Aaron Harrison with Aaron Gregory netting a reply for the Manor United side.
Scotter United also progressed, 3-1 against Coningsby.
Scotter scored through James Shuker (2) and George Cook with Coningsby netting from a Cameron Roberston penalty.
Brigg Town won 5-3 against Waddington United after extra-time. Chris Rodgers scored a hat-trick while the other Brigg goals came from James Watson and Steven Glentworth.
Waddington found the net through Adi Page, Liam Cundy and James Mills.
Lincoln United edged out Bottesford Town 3-2 after goals from Jacob Dolan, Brad Smithson and Andrew Gillespie although a brace from Tom Robb made it a tense finish to the game.
The Premier League ties in the Jacksons Workwear Rental Charity Cup saw Trenstside Rangers progress at the expense of Caythorpe & Fulbeck and Lincoln Moorlands Railway at the expense of Saxilby Athletic.
Bottesford Town won 3-0 in midweek against Welton with Josh Parry (2) and Joe Robb seeing them home.
In the Premier League, Appleby-Frodingham hit nine goals without reply in a terrific display against Retford United.
Jack Siddall scored a hat-trick, Josh Atkins and Mike Fenlon netted braces while Joe Addison and Patrick Shaw also got on the scoresheet.
The two games in the Central League had goals aplenty with North Lindum Hawks just losing out 5-4 to Nettleham.
Nettleham netted through Chris Hodson Matt Taylor, Tom Espin, Connor Caines and Alex Ojabo with North Lindum Hawks replying through James Wadsworth (2) and Callum McCall (2).
Welton scored 12 goals without reply against Greenbank.
Joel Sharp netted five, Laurence Marris hit a hat-trick and Ollie Thorne, Ed Noon, Matt Cook and James Cairns also scored.
