Youngsters design warning to litter louts in Louth
WARNINGS to litter louts in Louth will be spelled out loud and clear thanks to posters designed by town youngsters.
The Target teamed up with the Louth in Bloom Committee to run a poster competition with local primary schools to get people thinking twice about dropping litter.

Louth will be judged for the first time on July 6 in the East Midlands in Bloom competition, which encourages communities to take civic pride in their towns.
The Louth in Bloom campaign is about participation in the community and children at Kidgate Primary School, Lacey Gardens Primary School and St Bernard’s Special School have done their bit to help Louth’s efforts.

Louth and the Wolds Target reporter, Sadie Russell said: “It was a very hard task judging all the wonderful and brightly coloured posters we received. There were lots of imaginative slogans the children had come up with and the variety of ideas in the posters really did make judging difficult. I would like to thank all the pupils for their hard work and for being part of Louth in Bloom.”
A winner and two runners-up were selected from each school who entered. As well as a certificate, the winner received a £15 book token sponsored by the Target.
The winning designs will be turned into posters which will be on display when the judges come to Louth next week.
The results were: Lacey Gardens Junior School - Winner: Daniel Payne, Runners-up - Poppy Kinsey and Olivia Jones; Kidgate Primary School - Winner: Lucy Austin, Runners-up Eleanor Sands and Caitlin Hall’ St Bernard’s Special School - Winner: Kylie Gravenor, Caitlin Reynolds and Kian Mendham.
