Cup shocks in Main Ridge competition

Main Ridge Take-Away Reserve Cup

CUP SHOCKS came in the form of Fishtoft Reserves and Pointon Reserves toppling sides from higher divisions.

Division Two Fishtoft ousted Division One Wyberton Reserves 2-1 at home.

Wyberton opened the scoring early in the second half through Robert Adamiak before Michael Parnham levelled the tie.

The all-important match winner came from Conrad Louth who netted from the penalty spot.

Division Three side Pointon dumped Division One outfit Swineshead Reserves out, 4-3.

The underdogs' goals came from John Mott (2), Brad Munton and George Sharpe.

Division One Swineshead replied through Mark Ledger, Richard Barker and Rikky Toyer.

Coningsby Reserves beat Spalding Harriers Reserves 4-1.

Chris Chew, Stuart Gomes and Cameron Robertson (2) scored.

Spalding netted a consolation through Nathan Gurbutt.

In an all-Division Two clash Spalding Town Reserves edged out Old Doningtonians Reserves with a 3-2 home win. Jamie Juckes, Paul Ryan and Micky Handford were all on target for Spalding.

Cropleys Suzuki Premier

Coningsby were 4-2 winners against Woodhall Spa United.

Swineshead striker Bert Snaith scored a hat-trick as his side defeated Freiston 5-2.

Snaith fired his side in front after four minutes but Freiston levelled through Lee Dakin.

Snaith struck again two minutes later but it was all-square when Scott Hutchinson headed home. Swineshead snatched the leadon 70 minutes through Paul Clarke's penalty before Martin North then made it 4-2.

Snaith completed his hat-trick on 83 minutes.

Kirton Town and Spilsby Town shared the points at Graves Park following a 2-2 draw. Graham Blades and Dan Smith scored for Spilsby.

Cropleys Suzuki Division One

Nortoft United, who were due to entertain Fishtoft, were forced to call their game off due to a shortage of players.

The inevitable outcome will be the award of the three points to Fishtoft.

Goals from Adam Tempest, Danny Keal and Rob Staples helped Old Leake to a 3-2 home win against Spalding Town

Sutterton had to wait until the 88th minute before clinching the three points, defeating Holbeach Bank 3-2.

Nigel Edison opened the scoring for Sutterton on 18 minutes before Holbeach levelled the scores 10 minutes later.

Sutterton responded well and Andy Brown put his side 2-1 ahead at the break.

The Bank rocked the home side with an equaliser from the penalty spot on 65 minutes and the game seemed to be heading for a draw until leading goalscorer Andy Brown popped up with the crucial winner two minutes from time.

Cropleys Suzuki Division Two

Boston Town Old Boys returned to the top of the table following a 3-0 home win against Sportsman. Shane Clancy (2) and Micky Nuttell got on the scoresheet.

Kirton Leisure defeated Westside Rangers Reserves 5-0.

Liam Shinn (2), Tim Rowland, Chris Massingham and Sam Duff scored.

Craig Spooner struck a fine hat-trick for Castle Colts in their 6-0 home win against Fosdyke. Danny Warren grabbed two and a superb Danny White free-kick completed the scoring.

Tydd St Mary recovered from 2-0 down to draw level in the 78th minute only for Mareham United to respond almost immediately to give the visitors a 3-2 win.

Cropleys Suzuki Division Three

Park United drew 3-3 with Skegness Town A.

Chris Wright, Ben Liu and Alex Limb put Park in control at 3-1 but Town hit back with two late strikes to rescue a point.

Benington won 5-3 at Friskney thanks to goals from Tim Bell (2), Neil Timby, Nicky Wiles and Ross Don-Duncan.

Friskney, who also had a goal ruled out, were level until the final 15 minutes.

Glen Hislop, Perrie Dale and Jamie Lawson from the penalty spot scored for Friskney.

Holbeach Bank Reserves lost 6-0 at home to Freiston Reserves. Troy Ayton and Tom Waterson both scored twice while Chris Spiller and Daniel Redford also got on the scoresheet.
