'We're not a bunch of boy racers' say All Reved Up
THIS is the message from a Boston- based group of performance and modified car enthusiasts.
Formed two months ago, All Reved Up has already seen its fledging membership reach 62 petrolheads who meet at various locations around the town.
The club is now looking to boost its numbers further and find a regular meeting place, while also trying to improve public perception of the hobby.
Group spokesman Tim Lake told the Target: "Boston has an issue with 'boy racers' which is a term we all have been tarred with just because of our choice of car.
"We certainly don't class ourselves as 'boy racers'. We are just car enthusiasts who like to meet up and enjoy each others company.
"There are some young drivers who give us all a bad image with the way they act.
"But our members, and the majority of young and performance car drivers, are responsible and considerate towards other road users and the general public and we all take immense pride in what we drive.
"One of our club's main aims is to promote a positive image for the younger and performance car driver.
"We plan to choose a charity of the year each year and to collect money for it through events and fundraising activities.
"We also hope to find a pub to hold regular meetings at in the way many motorcycle and classic car groups do.
"By our actions we hope to change the minds of those who label all young and performance car drivers yobs just because of the behaviour of a small minority.
"When all is said and done we are a friendly bunch who welcome anyone to our forum and to our meets."
