Robert McCartney, 31, of Nimrod Block, High Dike, RAF Waddington, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to driving in excess of 30mph. He was fined £500 and ordered to pay costs of £43. His licence was endorsed with six points.

Sinead Jessica Jeanette McDonald, 21, of Lincolnshire YMCA Ltd, Room 37, St Rumbold Street, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to theft of make-up items to the value of £12 belonging to Savers and commissioning a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months, ordered to pay compensation of £20.39 and costs of £50. The order is to continue with an employment education and training programme for five days added.

Trevor Wood, 56, of 9 Merleswen, Dunholme, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to driving in excess of 30mph. He was fined £60 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15. His licence was endorsed with three points.

Steven Lee Bradshaw, 35, of 21 Walnut Place, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to using threatening, insulting words or behaviour and commissioning a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. He was fined £70, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £50.

Lewis Peter Bremner, 25, of 50 College Street, Grantham, pleaded guilty to possession of a quantity of MCAT a controlled Class B drug, theft of a tester bottle of aftershave to the value of £10.99 belonging to B&M and failing to surrender to custody. He was given a community order with a supervision requirement for 10 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60. The drugs were forfeited and destroyed.

Callum Busby, 18, of 96 De Wint Avenue, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to using or threatening unlawful violence towards another causing them to fear for their personal safety. He was committed to Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing.

Heather Chuck, 56, of 18 Lapwing Close, Market Rasen, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions and two counts of failing to notify West Lindsey District Council of a change of circumstances. She was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £100.

Jack Anthony Jenner, 18, of 11A Fen Road, Metheringham, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to using or threatening unlawful violence towards another causing them to fear for their personal safety. He was committed to Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing.

Craig Paul Marchant-East, 19, of 36 Nettleton Close, Branston, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to using or threatening unlawful violence towards another causing them to fear for their personal safety. He was committed to Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing.

Jeremy Owen, 38, of 2B Spa Street, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to having a Stanley knife in a public place. He was given a community order to carry out unpaid work for 80 hours within the next 12 months and ordered to pay costs of £85. The Stanley knife was forfeited and destroyed.

David Richard Garner, 23, of 25 The Brambles, Market Rasen, Lincoln, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to failing to stop a motor vehicle when required to do so by a constable in uniform, driving without insurance and MoT. He was fined £500, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85. His licence was endorsed with six points.

Julie Berkes, 45, of 2 Spruce Crescent, Branston, Lincoln, was found guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court for failing to comply with the indication given by a traffic signal. She was fined £125, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £125. Her licence was endorsed with three points.

John Godwin, 41, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to failing to comply with the requirements of a suspended sentence. He was given an 18 week suspended sentence for 24 months.

    “Looks to me like the RAF guy was hard done by when compared (say) with Mr Garner who clearly did a lot more wrong than he did but got a broadly similar sentence. I sense the punishment is moderated according to ability to pay but feel that is quite wrong - sentences should be broadly consistent by crime and awarded regardless of ability to pay fines. If the poor wee lamb can't afford the fine then whack him inside for a bit to comtemplate the error of his ways.”
