“I think the implementation of the 'requires improvement' grade is certainly aiming to raise standards and I think it is right and proper that standards are continually challenged and improved upon. This is especially important when it comes to the education of children.
I'm not a teacher but in all the jobs I've done, opportunities to challenge myself and become better at what I do have always been welcomed although in some cases, the initial requirement sometimes stings a little!”

“Union 'leaders' appear to criticise anything and everything. I see no problem with striving to be better - why do the unions? I am led to think that the unions are happy with mediocrity and therefore not encouraging the best within education.”
