“Eight years ago, I had the bailiffs turn up to my house twice chasing a debt in a different name. They were nice enough about it both times, but discovered I had to let the county court know about it too in order to prevent the bailiffs form being sent out for a third time. A little inconvenience, I know, but still annoying when you've not done anything wrong.”

“If you are a regular reader of these postings, xx211, you will know Lynn is ex old bill, and therefore, should be well aware of the legal niceties. It is obvious lynn either smelt a rat or mistook her surname for the person of eastern European origin.”

“Guess what, I've just had another letter from the same Building Society, this time trying to set up a direct debit in this Lithuanian's name. I was half an hour on the phone, explaining it all yet again, no doubt my phone bill will be through the roof. Does anyone mind if I scream?”

“Sneer, I have given to charities, particularly where a tsunami was involved, but look at Somalia, they won't allow aid in, half the time the aid goes into someone's back pocket or to purchase guns for the ongoing war.
Charity begins at home and with me it's for Lifeboats or the Salvation Army.
A colleague of mine is going to work in Nigeria for a few weeks, and it's costing them £402 for a Visa to do so, I just hope they don't come back in a body bag albeit it's their decision to go there. Money rules most of our decisions.
I'm just glad I live in GB, I count myself very lucky.”

“And another letter arrived this morning in the Lithuanian name, this time cancelling his direct debit. It was put straight back in the post to the Building Society concerned (minus the stamp). When this man b.....s off back to his native Country of origin, owing the BS grand style, they can't say they wasn't warned. I hope the Bailiffs don't come knocking on my door.”

“You've started a sentence with the word 'and'. You've given the words 'building society', 'country' and 'bailiffs' capital letters when they shouldn't have them. 'Wasn't' should be 'weren't'.

Just thought I'd point this out after you took great pleasure in having a go at somebody else's spelling and grammar here: http://tinyurl.com/4y7rgc2

“It doesn't matter how vigilant you are with your personal information, there's nothing you can do to stop somebody from just picking your address at random, which is obviously what's happened here. Complete and utter non-story, but hey, thanks for making my life look interesting.”

“The other thing that seems to be rife these days is utility companies trying to take over accounts without the home owner knowing. I have a property I let out in Gainsborough and in periods of non-tenancy there is always an attempt for the gas/electric to be taken over by another company. It costs me time and money to explain the situation to the current supplier but it makes you realise that unscrupulous people seem to be able to do what they like to mess up people's lives. I think the utility sales people must walk the streets looking for empty properties.

Last week there was also a letter addressed to a foreign name I had never heard of. It went straight back in the post box 'return to sender, never known at this address'. Hopefully that will be the end of the matter.”

“lynn a similar thing happened and still does to a woman who is on the receiving end of the police's corrupt practices and those of 2 informants. she gets letters that are not addressed to her neither are they addressed to anyone who has ever lived at the property. they are made up names and from my investigations connected to money laundering. not all identity fraud(which does not always mean identity theft)is about scamming free credit cards etc, in this case its about money laundering connected to the drugs trade and an ongoing police operation that they are hell bent on covering up, im not the only one(apart from this woman and her family)who know about it though, young kids in the area knew about hidden cameras in wheelie bins. i can even show you where a police forward intelligence team are situated. makes me so cross i nearly laugh.
but you are right to be paranoid as am i, but my advice is not to trust anyone...even those who are ment to protect us.
they are in fact the worst of the worst as they say that the ends justify the means and that can never be the case.”

“ss29252 so you are saying then that it is ok for the police to be corrupt? are you trying to defend them? Would you defend the third reich? no! then you can not sit there from the comfort of your arm chair and pretend that nothing bad is happening. I bet that you still believe the leveson inquiry shouldnt be going on and that the press act totally and wholly perfectly.

my advice to you is to open your mind a bit more.
i agree with patterson77 as ive heard and experienced things that prove CONCLUSIVELY that this sort of thing happens.

for instance i know of a guy who got caught defrauding credit card companies and banks in a similar manor to the one apparently described by the author of this post.
i am a police officer so i do know a fair bit about this sort of thing and in my experience not enough is being done to combat it as financial crime is on the up and is a crime where little serious punishment is metered out to certain individuals”
