Am drams acting up
AMATEUR dramatics groups from across the region came together for the 64th annual play festival.
The week-long event was organised by Skegness Playgoers and this year was based at the Crazy Horse Saloon at Butlins thanks to resort director, Chris Baron.

Each evening, the plays were watched by judge Marie O'Sullivan who gave praise and advice to all the teams which took part.
Vice chairman of Skegness Playgoers, Jenni Blankley, said: "Seven amateur theatre groups from around the region and beyond came to Skegness to perform a play of their choice.

"They adapted excellently to the new surroundings and smaller stage area.
"These plays were adjudicated and there were 14 trophies awarded on the final evening. The overall winner gets the chance to perform their play at the all-winners' final which is to be held in Blackburn this year."
In addition to full performances during the festival, there was also a one-act play evening.
The event was opened and closed by Playgoers chairman Ken Blankley who thanked all those involved, especially Sue Sharman who takes on the task of putting the festival together.
On Saturday evening, Mayor of Skegness, Councillor Mark Anderson and Councillor John Arnott-Watson, chairman of Ingoldmells Parish Council attended to watch the final performance and hand out the trophies.
