Lincoln theatre stages a right royal rumble

MUSCLEMEN wearing spandex are to take each other on at a Lincoln theatre.

There will be a Britain vs the US theme when pro-wrestlers showcase their talents at the Theatre Royal in Clasketgate a week today.

Kings of the canvas will entertain crowds with features including an over the top rope rumble.

Leading the American opposition is the fiercely competitive Chad Collyer, from Indiana, who is said to have a very individual interpretation of British rules.

Backing him up will be the 'Brooklyn Brawle'r' Julio Torres and the uncompromising 'Barbarian' Karl Kramer among other top flight contenders.

Representing Britain will be the former British title holder, James Mason alongside Midlander Kid Cool and 'Liverpool Lad' Frankie Sloan.

Crowd pleasing entertainer Little Legs will accompany the home side in the ring after a lengthy break from the sport.

The 3ft 6in mini-whirlwind from Oxford, who first made his mark as tag partner of the fearless Flatliner, promises to be a source of irritation to far bigger rivals.

Little Legs said he got into wrestling while working as a look-a-like.

"I was working as a Mini Me look-a-like when I met one of the other wrestlers," he said.

"He invited me along to watch a match and the next thing I knew I was fighting.

"When I was a kid I liked watching it on television but I never thought I'd end up doing it."

Tickets for the event cost £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and £35 for a family ticket.

To book, call the Theatre Royal box office on (01522) 525555.
