Matt Bowser is hoping to cap off a successful winter season in style with victory in the Lincoln 10k tomorrow.

The 26-year-old Lincoln Wellington athlete has enjoyed success on the roads, finally breaking the half hour barrier for 10k.

He also managed a 12th place finish at the National Cross Country Championships and is now relishing the summer ahead.

But before he can get stuck into a season of track racing he has to do battle in his home town.

"It has been a really good winter for me," said Bowser.

"I've broken the 30 minute barrier already this year, and recently I did 14 minutes eight seconds for a 5k in Armagh.

"I broke 30 at the Dewsbury 10k in February, where I did a time of 29:58.

"Four of the guys in that field will be running tomorrow. But I feel I'm in much better shape recently and I'm feeling confident."
