Former learning support manager admits child porn charges
A MOTHER who worked with teenagers at an Alford school was today (Friday) warned she faces jail after admitting downloading child porn images from the internet.
Melanie Gunn, 36, was the learning support manager at a secondary school when she was arrested by police following a raid on her home near Alford, last July.
Officers seized computer equipment including hard drives and disks on which they found dozens of hardcore child porn images.
Last Friday Gunn, the mother of a toddler, appeared before Lincoln Crown Court where she admitted six offences of making indecent images of children between September 2007 and October 2008.
She also admitted possessing 79 child porn images on two laptops and two charges of possessing 296 extreme pornographic images showing bestiality and sadism.
Peter Johnson, defending, asked for sentence on Gunn, of Driby, near Alford, to be adjourned for a psychological report.
Judge Michael Heath granted Gunn bail until April 23 but also placed her on the Sex Offenders Register,
He told her that the fact she had been granted bail did not mean that she would not go to prison when she was sentenced.
Lincolnshire County Council confirmed that Gunn had been employed at the John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford at the time of her arrest,
A spokesman said she was working as the independent learning support manager at the John Spendluffe Technology College but resigned from her position in August.
The charges Gunn admitted do not involve any child at the school or her own child.
