Ten-man Lincoln United extended their unbeaten run to eight with a goal in either half to defeat Carlton Town, 2-0, in UniBond League Division One (South) at Ashby Avenue last night.

The Whites were ahead after seven minutes, when Kallum Smith's in-swinging corner, was met by Sam Wilkinson (pictured) in the six-yard box,

Then, one minute into time added on at the end of the game, substitute Sean Cann was set free and made no mistake with the finish.

The Whites were reduced to ten men, when skipper Brendan McDaid was sent off for a tackle on Jared Holmes on 64 minutes.

From that point on, United had to endure an attacking onslaught from Town.

The visitors' best chance came on the hour when former White, Justin Jenkins struck the crossbar.
