Thursday, October 23, 2008, 11:28

A £4m expansion and refurbishment programme has been announced for Lincoln County Hospital.

Over the next two years work will be done on the Emergency Assessment Unit and the Endoscopy Unit at the hospital

The EAU will be expanded to provide easier access, quicker turnaround and assessment times for patients, said hospital bosses.

The Endoscopy unit will be moved to a different location on the hospital site and also expanded to provide more privacy and dignity for patients.

Dawne Bloodworth, director of operations and deputy CEO of United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, said: "It's brilliant news that these projects can now go ahead. Our staff have worked very closely with each other and with us to come up with the ideas and solutions for these projects to ensure the facilities are fit for purpose."
