Cabbie attacked for takings

Police are hunting for clues after a Lincoln taxi driver was attacked by a passenger.

The cabbie was punched several times in the head by a man after picking him and two female passengers up from Ritzy’s nightclub.

The attack happened at 2.40am on Sunday when the taxi driver stopped in Monks Road, Lincoln.

Following the attack the driver’s takings were missing.

The attacker is described as white, aged about 19 years old, of a large build and was wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

One of the female passengers is described as aged between 20 and 22 years old, of a heavy build, with very short, ginger, curly hair and was wearing a white mini skirt and a white top.

The second woman had black shoulder length hair and was wearing black clothing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call Lincolnshire Police on (01522) 882222 with incident number 60 of December 21.
