Come join gala fun on city estate

Friday, April 17, 2009, 07:30

CHARITIES are invited to claim their place at a Lincoln estate's summer gala.

The St Giles Action Group's last gala raised more than £900.

That occasion saw free ice cream given to visitors, a flypast by the Red Arrows and a youth football tournament held alongside the stalls.

And this year it's hoped more good causes will join the event on Sunday, July 25 – with stalls offered free to charities.

Group chairman Sheila Hubbard said once charities had come forward, other groups and businesses would have the opportunity to rent the remaining stalls.

The money raised will then be donated to Chad Varah school.

"Funds are so, so low," she said.

"I'm hoping this year we can make it bigger and better."
