Couple renew vows on GMTV

A couple from Lincolnshire who have stuck together through thick and thin are to renew their wedding vows to millions of people live on national television.

Pauline and Ted Sidebottom, 51, from Welton, near Lincoln, will take part in a ceremony on ITV's daytime television programme This Morning.

The show, which will be hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, will see 20 couples from across the UK renew their vows, in preparation for St Valentine's Day.

The Sidebottoms were chosen to take part due to the adversity they have faced throughout their marriage, with Mrs Sidebottom, 49, being confined to a wheelchair for much of the time they have been together.

"The story starts six years ago when I had two spinal operations close together," explained Mrs Sidebottom.

"On the second one, my spinal chord was damaged, and I lost all feeling in one of my legs.

"Me and Ted have only been married for three years, but he's been with me through everything. I don't think I would be here without him. He's supported me and been absolutely amazing.

"I'd marry him every day if I could."

Mrs Sidebottom's parents, who are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary this year, will also be taking part in the televised events.
