Book draws on history to explore art
The book starts with stone age art, exploring the ancient roots of sculpture and painting techniques, including the famous paintings in Lascaux caves which date back to 13,000 BC.
The Wonderful World of Knowledge series will soon be drawing to a close, with just two more books to come after the World of Art.
Echo promotions manager Sarah Carter said: "This has been a wonderful promotion to be involved in.
"We have received so much positive feed back from our vendors and customers about how popular the books are.
"We were pleasantly surprised by how many people have taken up the offer and collected the books every week.
"The Echo team is really pleased to have been involved in the Wonderful World of Knowledge promotion and hope that the books will be enjoyed by children for many years."
You can pick up the World of Art from tomorrow with your Echo.
Next week is the penultimate book in the Wonderful World of knowledge series, Communications which looks at how we pass on information, from secret codes to speaking and emails.
