Hairy Bikers bring TV show to Lincoln
In September last year the HairyBikers, known individually as Dave Myers and Si King, came to Lincolnshire to film a special birthday-themed episode of their new series Mums Know Best.
The episode, which sees the Bikers cooking in both the gardens and the kitchen of Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, will air on BBC2 at 8pm tonight.
Owner of Doddington Hall Claire Birch said that it was great fun to have the TV personalities cooking at the family-run Elizabethan home.
"They were here all day and enjoyed a look round the farm shop, plus they were filmed riding their bikes through the village," she said.
"It was great to have them at Doddington, because they could use produce that was grown locally. All the ingredients they used were from Lincolnshire, including Lincoln red beef, Skegness milk and Doddington eggs.
The Hairy Bikers were brought to Lincolnshire when a local woman contacted the show with some of her recipes.
As well as cooking at Doddington Hall, the Bikers will visit Yvonne Dent, from Lincoln, and learn how to make a fruit birthday cake, a sausage plait and a Manchester tart.
Project Leader of Tastes of Lincolnshire Lydia Rusling said that national television exposure was a great step for Lincolnshire's produce.
"It's great to see a great food-producing venue such as Doddington Hall gaining the attention of a popular national television programme," she said.
