Huge turnout for sausage festival
The seventh annual Sausage Festival served up a feast of tasty treats for visitors, as well as scores of activities in the castle grounds.
Hundreds of visitors hit the uphill area for the free event on Saturday.
Among the culinary delights on offer were traditional Lincolnshire sausages alongside more exotic bangers such as pork and Lincolnshire Poacher cheese, venison, pork and chestnut and beer infused sausages.
Also on offer were a range of meats from local producers, cupcakes, chillies and chutneys and special sauces.
It was organised by Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia in conjunction with Lincoln Castle, Lincoln Business Improvement Group and Tastes of Lincolnshire.
Mark Brewer from the Rotary Club said it was a great success.
"It started off as a very silly idea to have a bit of fun and raise money for charity, but has really taken off," he said.
"There is no more fitting way to celebrate the county than with a festival dedicated to Lincolnshire's trademark food. I'm very pleased with the turn out this year."
