Planners behind a new super-dairy in Lincolnshire held a meeting with residents, after telling the Echo it was to be cancelled.

According to Farmers Weekly Interactive, representatives from the potential Nocton Dairies proposal met with residents at Nocton village hall yesterday afternoon.

A meeting had been planned to take place last night, but the Echo were sent a statement reading: "We feel that because of the level of national interest the project has generated, the proposed meeting will no longer be the best forum for local residents to be able to voice and discuss their genuine concerns."

But it has now emerged the meeting was instead held at 2.30pm, although neither residents or the press were given notice of the change of time.

A further meeting, arranged by Nocton Parish Council, is being held at the village hall this evening from 7pm.
