Have you got the right Kat-titude?

Friday, November 14, 2008, 07:45

A fun, outgoing person who is able to stand high temperatures in a fake-fur costume is needed for Lincolnshire's latest job opportunity.

Lincolnshire Co-operative has announced it is looking for a new performer to take on the role of their official mascot Kool Kat.

Lincolnshire Co-operative membership and community manager Sam Turner said: "Kool Kat is getting busier and busier so we are looking for another candidate to join our team.

"The role will be a lot of fun and there are lots of different events and activities that Kool Kat attends."

And the character loves nothing more than to be the centre of attention – he once performed alongside the Redcoats at Butlins in Skegness.

Co-op membership and community assistant manager Richard Whittaker has played the role on numerous occasions.

"It's not often you get to dress up as a giant cat wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses," he said.

" It is great meeting lots of different people and seeing their reactions to Kool Kat – because he is a friendly feline with kat-titude."

And whoever takes on the role has already been challenged to a duel – in the form of a race at Sincil Bank against Poacher the Imp.

Anyone interested in the job should call (01522) 533316 or visit www.lincolnshire.coop
