“I was expecting the city to grind to a halt yesterday with a damp squib of events to follow, but I was actually impressed that the organisers seemed to get it right. By following the advice given in the Echo and internally at work I was able to get home with no problems early evening. Sitting outside the pub watching the football, it sounded like the firework display was a good one.
Im not a fan of the Olympics being held in London or the circus surrounding it, but if the torch relay has brought happiness to people then thats a positive.
“2012 Olympics is already a great success and we haven't even got to it yet! "London 2012" is marketing spectacular literally covering the world and will continue to do so for weeks and the aftermath will last for decades. Great time to be British as all the negatives fly away for always.”
“Would love to have been part of this but despite being a regular reader of the Echo & Lincolnite, I was unaware of such an event; I knew the torch was coming to Lincoln but not that there were so many other things going on :-(”
“Great Event, well supported, and very pleased to see after all the negative reports in the papers over the last seven years, to see thousands who are looking forward to the Olympics.”
