The Lincolnshire Media Golf Challenge aims to find the best amateur pairs from across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

The competition is open to pairs of men, women and seniors (over 60) although you do not have to enter the seniors just because you are of that vintage. The initial rounds take the form of a straight knockout tournament for pairs in which you can be drawn home or away.
This new event is being sponsored by Gainsborough Golf Club, with the finals day being contested on their challenging Karsten Lakes Course on Friday, September 27.

Designed by Neil Coles, who in 1985 became only the second man to win a professional golf tournament in six different decades, this 6,900 yard course offers gently undulating terrain and hugely challenging features.
With up to 500 players from local clubs expected to compete for this impressive trophy, operations manager at Gainsborough Simon Keane is delighted his club is involved in the Lincolnshire Media Golf Challenge.
"It's great for us because we get other people coming in and seeing the quality of the golf club," Keane said.
"It's a great opportunity to get a new audience for membership or for visitors and green fees.
"The players that make the finals day here will be coming to us towards the end of the summer when the course is probably at its best.
"There is a two course meal as well so there is all the catering involved so they will see all the facilities that we have on offer here.
"The Lakes course is quite tough for the area. It's not quite Woodhall Spa, which is a championship golf course, but people will see that it's more testing than most members courses. It's quite a challenge for players.
"The prevailing winds, certainly on the final few holes, really make it a challenge and I think players will enjoy that test towards the end of their matches."
