Head of property services Martin Woods said: "Boston Mayflower is committed to fulfilling its obligation to ensure all its homes continue to meet the Decent Homes Standard. We will continue to invest locally and empower the Boston area community."

The new move follows delivery of Mayfields – a £7million 'extra care' scheme, a £1.5million refurbishment of The Evergreens, Butterwick, and the start of a £3.5million project to refurbish 69 prefabricated bungalows.

The association is working to a 30-year improvement plan to meet standards "regulators require and tenants expect".

A £2.5million plan for 2012-13 will provide 45 new kitchens, 69 new bathrooms, updated heating systems to 312 properties and wiring upgrades to 193 properties.

Mayflower has also allocated £300,000 over three years to be divided between its five area panels, which are comprised of tenants and cover the town and local villages.

Through these panels local areas will be improved with items such as lighting, landscaping or fencing where required.

To join one of Mayflower's area panels and have a say in the future management of your estate contact the customer participation team on 01205 318505.
