Get queueing for the car washing crew
Firefighters in Louth and Bardney will be lathering up to wash your car for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity at two events on Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22.
Crews from Louth Fire Station will be washing cars at Morrisons car park in the town on the Saturday (10am and 2pm). Meanwhile, there will be plenty of fun to keep all the family busy with a raffle, face painting and a vintage fire engine making an appearance.
Sarah Turner, watch commander at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, says: "Drivers can save themselves the weekend chore of washing the car and support a fantastic cause at the same time. We're hoping to raise as much as possible for The Fire Fighter's Charity in its 70th anniversary year. We'll also be answering questions on fire safety and raising awareness of the dangers of open fires and chimney fires as the winter season approaches."
Bardney firefighters will be washing cars at Bardney Fire Station between 10am and 1pm the following day.
Shona King, also from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, adds: "This is great opportunity for the community in Bardney to meet their local firefighters, get their car washed, but also get some advice or ask any questions about fire safety.
"We're actively recruiting at the moment too, so we're keen to meet anyone who would be interested in joining our crew."
The National Car Wash is the biggest event in The Fire Fighters Charity fundraising calendar.
