Ian Watson, 45, at work with his brother Allan, 36. Ian's company, Hemswell Fencing in Hemswell Cliff, was destroyed in the AWS plastics fire last year, but he has now begun trading again.
After waiting months for a dispute over insurance to be settled Mr Watson, 46, decided to get his business up an running again with or without the money.
Mr Watson, who lives in Faldingworth, said: "It is just a case of grabbing the bull by the horns and getting on with it.
"It has been difficult, I have a two-year-old boy and worked hard to make sure he still had food and a place to live.
"We've managed to build it back up but it is not to the level we were before.
"It has mainly been through help from businesses and people I've dealt with in the past who have given me things and will be paid when I can.
"I don't like doing things like that but it was the only way to get started."
Hemswell Fencing is now based on Learoyd Road, Hemswell, and can be reached on (01427) 668388.

“Well done Ian,I hope to deal with you again as soon as the need arises.
Hopefully you are continuing your fight for compensation from AWS's insurance as the fire was theirs, not yours. Best of luck.”
