“ Having recently moved to area with my husband in the raf i asked friends where is the best chippy round here? They recommended the elite and having looked at their website found this one was the closest to us. First impressions... this is not a chippy! Its a traditional fish and chip restaurant with a contemporary twist. I was certainly impressed! Not only is the decor fantastic, the staff were very friendly and attentive providing an efficient service and the food was exceptional! High quality delicious fish cooked to perfection in a golden crispy batter! No soggniess at all! Loved it, will recommend it and will certainly be returning again! ”

“Nicely decorated; pleasant background music; attentive waiting staff; clean toilets. However, food was a let-down. A large piece of fish should be just that, not a regular plus an off-cut. [Message from the kitchen, after complaint made, "We'd run out of large fish" - good policy would be to advise the customer of this and offer an option at the point of ordering]. Also, two of the four diners in the party found bones in the supposedly filleted fish. Closer supervision required in the kitchen. Having made a complaint I would expect the Head Chef/Duty Manager of a restaurant to respond directly to the customer to resolve the situation rather than using the waiter as a runner. Not the worst fish restauran but plenty of room for improvement at the Elite.”
