What a difference a year can make. For as long as I can remember, the massive mansion building on Park Street stood as a derelict shell, the ghost of a former nightclub that no one ever really went to in the first place.
But 12 months ago, after a massive £3 million revamp, it reopened and was transformed into what we now know as Home – one of the biggest and most popular venues in Lincoln.

On Friday, November 9, however, it's going to be a night to put on your best glad rags and dancing shoes as Home celebrates its first anniversary – and coming out of a double dip recession with bars, pubs and clubs closing across the county almost daily, it's no mean feat that Home is still as successful today than when it first opened its doors.
For starters, there's going to be two for one cocktails all weekend before 10pm – but it's in the evening the venue is going to be celebrating in true Home style with a Las Vegas party – with showgirls, a casino and plenty of indoor fireworks.
And with the usual eclectic mix of dance, RnB and pop music you want to hear on a weekend, it's going to be one birthday party you don't want to miss.

To say thank you to the thousands of customers who have passed through its doors in the last 365 days, Home is giving away a trip for two to the real Las Vegas on both Friday and Saturday night.
All you have to do to be in with your chance of winning is turn up and collect an official golden ticket, with the prize draw taking place at around 1am on each night.
In the last 12 months, Home has brought a whole raft of superstars and celebrities – from the cast of Made in Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex to chart stars like Sam and the Womp, Mischa B and Roll Deep.
"We always set out from day one to make sure we provided not only the ultimate entertainment venue in Lincoln but also to provide a fantastic experience for all our customers," says the venue's general manager David Nejrup.
