Tina Knowles revealed how impressed she was with her eldest daughter at the New York premiere of her new film, Cadillac Records.
"I'm terribly proud of her," she gushed on the red carpet.
"I'm proud of her because she works so hard and steps up to the challenge. She does the work, you know. I think [it's down to] all her hard work and determination, being able to stay grounded and not get caught up in the hype, because this business can take you to all kinds of places. You have to have a good, strong foundation within yourself and not get caught up in all the hype, and I think she's been able to do this."
She added: "I remember Beyonce and I talking, and her saying, 'if I could just get a gold record, I would be so happy'. And look at her now. She's got ten Grammys and all of these things so she's really been blessed. But she's a really hard worker."
Tina - who collaborates with Beyonce on their House of Dereon fashion brand - also revealed her daughter's early foray into style.
"She's always been a stylish girl. They [with sister Solange] were always allowed to put their own name on their jeans, rhinestones and cut up things," she recalled.
"They were free to express themselves creatively, and I think that helps when you get older."
