First stage of congestion-busting traffic scheme nears completion
Phase one of a £1.9 million congestion-busting scheme in Lincoln's Newark Road is nearing completion, says Lincolnshire County Council.
Work on the project, which aims to cut peak westbound journey times from Lincoln by two minutes, while easing snarl-ups at the Rookery Lane, Hykeham Road and Brant Road junctions, started in July.
Resurfacing of Newark Road between the Doddington Road and Hykeham Road junctions on the re-built road is due to be finished by this weekend.
Then, weather permitting, road markings will be painted from Monday.

And it is envisaged the right turn into Brant Road from Newark Road will be re-instated by the end of next week after new traffic lights are installed and paths and islands completed.
Phase two of the scheme is due for completion by November 22 and includes widening the Hykeham Road and Rookery Lane junctions.
This work will begin after the Brant Road junction fully re-opens.
