Boston United survived a Chester FC fightback to record a pulsating 3-2 victory at the Jakemans Stadium.

After an amazing first half, the Pilgrims led 3-0 at the break against a side that went into the game with seven wins out of seven in Blue Square Bet North.

Ben Fairclough scored the first two before Ben Milnes made it three to send the home fans wild.

However, those supporters were biting their nails three minutes into the second half when substitue Iain Howard struck twice inside 60 seconds.

But Boston composed themselves after that shock and could have stretched their lead in the closing stages.

After four minutes of added time, the home side eventually held on to record their second straight victory.

“I enjoyed a real thriller at York Street as United ended Chester's 23 match unbeaten run in all competition's. Only disappointment for me was the attendance, Take away the travelling 200 plus Chester fans and and Pilgrim's hard coe support appears to have slipped to around 1,000. So come on you missing 300 there really is some thing to cheer about so how about returning to Jakeman's Stadium and getting behind a still developing team that demonstrated real potential. Continue tp stay away will make real progress financially difficult for the club to maintain.”
