A last-gasp header from Ben Fairclough saw Boston United clinch a deserved 2-1 victory at Corby Town.

Fairclough struck in the third minute of added time as the Pilgrims picked up their first three points of 2012.

United dominated large chunks of the contest, but fell behind on the stroke of half-time when Delroy Gordon bundled the ball home following a corner.

The Pilgrims regrouped and drew level early in the second half when Ian Ross's superb free-kick found the net.

Boston then pressed for the winner with Marc Newsham striking the bar and Fairclough seeing an effort hacked off the line by Paul Mayo.

The winner finally arrived deep in added time when Conor Marshall's cross was eventually turned home by Fairclough.

"It was a deserved win, we were excellent today," said joint-manager Jason Lee.
