Goals from Mark Jones and Marc Newsham saw Boston United secure a superb 2-1 victory at high-flying Halifax.

Jones put the Pilgrims in front after just nine minutes with his third goal in three games. After home keeper Matt Glennon had parried Ben Fairclough's drive, the former Corby striker was on hand to tap home the rebound.

Despite coming under intense pressure at times, Boston carried the greater threat going forward and doubled their lead 20 minutes from time. Following a wonderful move Ian Ross picked out Newsham, who cheekily clipped the ball over Glennon.

Halifax substitute Gareth Seddon pulled a goal back in the 85th minute and Dan Haystead needed to be at his best to keep United in front.
