Full time report: Hereford 1 Lincoln City 0
The three hour journey back to Lincolnshire will have been a quiet one for Lincoln City.
A night which brought very little in the way of quality was highlighted by an 85th minute goal by Hereford's Chris Bush.
The Imps will be disappointed not to have earned at least a point for their efforts, after a first half which they just about dominated.
Despite enjoying the majority of the possession, Gary Simpson's side created little in the way of clear cut chances.
A Ben Tomlinson header from John Nolan's cross being the best moment for the Imps.
The second half brought much the same, with Hereford's Danny Leadbitter providing the best moment of the game with a rasping shot from 30 yards which flew just over the bar.
That effort brought about a sustained period of pressure, which eventually led to the goal five minutes from time.
It is the second successive defeat for the Imps, something which Simpson will want to put right on Saturday against Hyde.
