A NEW Woodland Trust initiative has been launched highlighting the benefits of woods and trees on health, wildlife, the economy and the environment.

The Woodland Trust is now calling for a massive increase in tree-planting across Lincolnshire, with the new campaign entitled More Trees, More Good.

The campaign is calling for the people of Lincolnshire to help the trust reach its target of planting 20 million native trees every year for the next 50 years.

Overall, the county has just three per cent woodland cover, below the UK average of 12 per cent.
