FREE parking for those wishing to enjoy... a night out!

I see this as almost helping those who wish to drink-drive.

In case you have not notice, Lincoln City Council and the big pubs chains are doing all right and are always busy so why help them?

Why not lower the astronomical car parking prices in Lincoln and help some of the smaller business which are having to leave the city centre due to lack of custom and high rates?

What about free parking and promoting tourism more, making us more of a hot spot for tourists?

But, no, they promote people going out for the night... clever!

Lee, Lincoln.

I PREFER a night out in the city centre at the weekends without paying over the odds for car parking.

But Lincoln City Council would not allow this or agree to such a proposal.

Instead, we people, are offered Thursday evening organised by Lincoln BIG.

What both the city council and Lincoln BIG don't realise that people have to work the following day which is a Friday.

But then, who will use it at weekends when confronted with the binge-drinking that occurs from all corners of the city centre.

John, Lincoln.

How about some free buses too, or any buses, for that matter!

Kevin, Lincoln.

MATT CORRIGAN, chief executive of Lincoln BIG, said the last event, which was held on Thursday, May 7, had not been 'as successful as they had hoped'.

This Thursday will flop too. Evening parking normally costs £1.50 – not exactly a big saving and not enough to persuade me to go out on a Thursday night.

Those of us that work generally go out at the weekends for practical reasons rather than cost.

M. C. Donald, Lincoln.
