We were never worried about relegation, insists Boston United forward Ben Fairclough
In-form forward Ben Fairclough insists he was never concerned Boston United would be dragged into a relegation battle and says the Pilgrims are only looking up the Blue Square Bet North table.
Prior to the arrival of manager Dennis Greene, Boston were in serious danger of being drawn into a fight to stay in the division.
But back-to-back wins against Gloucester City and Brackley Town means United are virtually ensured of safety.
Central to that upturn has been Fairclough, who scored in both games, including the crucial opening goal in the 2-0 success at Brackley.

And ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Worcester City, he says the Pilgrims are looking to finish the season on a high.
“I thought we’d always be safe, I didn’t think we’d get dragged into it,” said the former Notts County man.
“Now it’s just a case of finishing as high up the table as we can and accomplishing something this season.
“Everyone is playing for their future so we’re going to put everything we can into every game.”
